This was a delightful surprise. I can’t remember where I first came across this book but when I read this description “frenemies-to-lovers, college sports romance about a women’s soccer star and her surly lumberjack lookalike classmate” I knew I wanted to read it. There was more depth to this story than I expected and I found the romance to be sweet and realistic.Continue reading “Only When It’s Us”
I read this book as part of the 2019 Pop Sugar reading challenge but it had been on my radar for a while. A few friends read it and enjoyed it and I was looking for something light and fun to read. Honestly, I’m a bit surprised I enjoyed this book as much as I did and think that anyone looking for quick, fun, romance would like it as well.
I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about this book. There were times I really wanted to stop reading but kept on because it was my book club pick and I wanted to be able to discuss it. Then something strange happened…about 40% of the way through the book I ended up really liking it and actually found myself crying at the end. Suffice to say, there were things I really liked about this book and things I did not.
Well, this was one of the cutest comics I have ever read. I saw this comic pop up on a few lists of “must reads” and then it was discussed in a meeting I had with other librarians so I knew I had to read it. What I had heard was basically this: it’s about a college hockey player, who used to be a figure skater, and who likes to bake pies. Based on that description, how could I not pick this up?? If I could, this review would just be me saying over and over again “oh my gosh, this is so cute” and “I am so in love with Bitty” and “I can’t take how amazing this comic is…” suffice to say, this book exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it.
